Studio Policies
Please review the following policies to ensure a smooth and productive learning experience.
Payments
No registration or annual fees.
Tuition is due at the beginning of each month before the first lesson.
Late payments incur a $20 fee.
Accepted payment methods: Zelle or cash.
Monthly tuition is a flat fee based on 4 lessons per month. If a month has 5 lessons, one lesson is free or may be skipped.
Summer lessons (June–July) are billed per session.
Additional costs such as recitals, accompanist fees, and music books are the student's responsibility.
Monthly payments must be made consistently from August through May, regardless of missed lessons or holidays.
Cancellations & Make-Ups
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations.
Up to 2 make-up lessons per month are allowed, scheduled by mutual availability.
Make-up credits expire 30 days after issuance.
No refunds for missed or canceled lessons.
If you wish to discontinue lessons, a 30-day notice is required.
Attendance & Behavior
Arrive on time and be prepared with all necessary materials.
All students must wash their hands with soap and water before lessons.
Remove shoes and wear socks in the studio.
For safety and legal reasons, parents must drop off and pick up children within 5 minutes of the lesson start and end times.
Family members are not permitted inside the studio.
Students are expected to show respectful and focused behavior during lessons.
Practice & Materials
Daily Practice
Consistent, focused daily practice is essential for progress and retention.Three-Ring Binder with plastic sheet protectors
Required for all voice students and piano students at Level 1 and above to keep sheet music organized.Metronome
Required for piano students preparing for school auditions. A physical metronome or free app is acceptable.Tablet or Apple Device
Used by beginner piano students to access the Piano Adventures Player app or online audio.
Performances
Studio recitals are held twice a year; participation is encouraged for all students (optional for adult students).
Formal attire is required for recital performances.
Students who miss multiple lessons leading up to a recital may not be eligible to perform.
Selected students may be invited to participate in competitions, evaluations, or other events.
Communication
You are welcome to contact me anytime via email or text with questions or concerns.
Studio photos or videos may be used for promotional purposes unless you request otherwise.
Dismissal Policy
Nana Morimoto Piano & Voice Studio reserves the right to dismiss any student for the following reasons:
Repeatedly coming unprepared to lessons
Late or missing tuition payments
Frequent absences without notice
Disrespectful or uncooperative behavior (student or parent)
Not following practice instructions or showing lack of progress
Forgetting to bring books or materials regularly
