About Nana Morimoto

Nana Morimoto is a classically trained pianist, opera singer, organist, and vocal coach with an extensive background in both performance and teaching across Japan and the United States. Originally from Kobe, Japan, she studied piano and voice at the Showa University of Music and the Showa School for Performing Arts, receiving multiple scholarships and awards.

She relocated to the U.S. to work with Maestro Anton Guadagno, then Music Director of Palm Beach Opera, where she performed as a soprano, rehearsal pianist, prompter, and backstage conductor. She has since collaborated with Palm Beach Opera, Miami Lyric Opera, and South Florida Opera Company in over 50 productions as a pianist, soloist, coach, and chorus member. She currently sings with the Palm Beach Opera Chorus.

Ms. Morimoto studied bel canto technique and voice pedagogy with legendary soprano Virginia Zeani, and trained as a rehearsal pianist under conductor Massimo Morelli while working with Palm Beach Opera. She also served as pianist and coach at the Altamura Summer Institute, working with esteemed artists such as Anton Coppola and Licia Albanese.

As a rehearsal pianist and coach with Palm Beach Opera, she collaborated with renowned conductors including Julius Rudel and Bruno Aprea.

As founder of Opera & More Entertainment, she presents operatic and musical theater programs at private clubs and charity events throughout South Florida. She currently serves as organist, pianist, and cantor at St. Jude Catholic Church in Tequesta, and offers personalized classical music instruction at her private studio, Nana Morimoto Piano & Voice Studio, in West Palm Beach.

    She studied with renowned Japanese tenor Sakuzo Takada, whose pedagogical lineage traces back to Arrigo Pola, teacher of Luciano Pavarotti. She also trained in bel canto technique and voice pedagogy under legendary soprano Virginia Zeani, and developed her skills as a rehearsal pianist under conductor Massimo Morelli while working with Palm Beach Opera.

    Ms. Morimoto moved to the United States to work with Maestro Anton Guadagno, then Music Director of Palm Beach Opera. Under his mentorship, she worked as a soprano, rehearsal pianist, prompter, and backstage conductor. He once planned to bring her to Vienna State Opera as his assistant, a plan left unrealized due to his sudden passing.

    At Palm Beach Opera, she performed roles such as the Queen of Hearts and Dormouse in Alice in Wonderland (education tour), and the Page in Tannhäuser (mainstage). She also covered Elvira in I Puritani and Oscar in Un ballo in maschera. In total, she has worked on more than 50 opera productions as a rehearsal pianist, soloist, prompter, or chorus member with Palm Beach Opera, Miami Lyric Opera, South Florida Opera Company, and Tokyo Artescénica Opera Institute. With South Florida Opera, she also performed and played for Tosca, Norma, and Carmen. She is currently a member of the Palm Beach Opera Chorus.

    She has also coached and accompanied at the Altamura Summer Institute in New York, where she collaborated with Anton Coppola and Licia Albanese, and founded Opera & More Entertainment, which presents opera and musical theater programs throughout South Florida at clubhouses and charity events including Mar-a-Lago and The Breakers Palm Beach.

    As a rehearsal pianist and coach with Palm Beach Opera, she collaborated with renowned conductors including Julius Rudel and Bruno Aprea.

    Currently, Ms. Morimoto serves as organist, pianist, and cantor at St. Jude Catholic Church in Tequesta, Florida. She teaches classical piano and voice at her private school, Nana Morimoto Piano & Voice Studio, in West Palm Beach. She is an active member of MTNA, FSMTA, and PBCMTA.
